At Purely Equines, everything begins with a genuine love for horses and a commitment to caring for them the right way.
Founder Sheryl Morehead has been around horses since she was a little girl. From riding through high school to later rescuing horses from slaughter in Southwest Florida, her connection to these animals has always been rooted in compassion, responsibility, and respect. She personally funded second chances for horses in need, giving them safe and supported lives.
Through caring for these animals, Sheryl came to an important realization.
The products she was using every day contained harsh chemicals — the kind she would never consider using on herself — yet they were being used on the animals she loved most.
Today, her barn is home to two special rescues. Nut, a Haflinger who is blind in his right eye, and a spirited off-the-track Thoroughbred who is part of the family for life. Her 16-year-old daughter has followed in her footsteps, continuing that same passion with a horse of her own.
Determined to find a better way, she began researching, testing, and handcrafting her own grooming products using simple, plant-based ingredients. What she discovered was not only a safer approach, but a more effective one.
What started as a personal solution quickly spread throughout her barn. Others began using her products, seeing the results, and trusting the process.
Purely Equines was born from that experience.
Today, every product is thoughtfully formulated in small batches using clean, purposeful ingredients. The goal is simple — to provide dependable care that supports healthy skin, strong coats, and resilient hooves without unnecessary additives.
